Another ADAA initiative! Aberdeen and District Angling Association have negotiated access to the

famous Mid Dee Knappach Beat on the River Dee with owner Victor Beamish for season 2008!

This is a unique opportunity for anglers to experience excellent spring salmon fishing. The Knappach

Beat
Members and non members will be able to book two rods on Monday every week during the season

using the booking system to the right.

The Beat

knappach house

Knappach lies about 18 miles from Aberdeen and one mile east of Banchory and is accessed via the south Deeside Road.
It is opposite and above the Crathes Beat and below the Invery Beat, just past a red roofed house with the balcony at the front, ( see left) it is accessed through a gate and had a metal post showing where the beat access road is 100 yds. past this house on the right

"The Red Roofed House"

There is excellent parking right on the bank and there is a bothy with a gas cooker.

The beat is just over half a mile long on the right bank of the River Dee.

There are five named pools with the most notable being the Island pool and Lower Birkenbaud.

The beat has been under fished over the last few years and offers a good chance in most water

conditions (except when the water is very high).

Two of the pools (floating Bank and lower Birkenbaud) are particularly good for sea trout and the

proprietor welcomes fishing in the evening for them although information on this will follow in due

course.

There is no ghillie provided.
