Donside Urban Village

The President reported that he had been shocked to learn that Aberdeen City Council had granted planning permission for the construction of a hydro scheme at the village as he had attended a number of meetings about the proposals where this had never been made clear & opposition to the scheme had been expressed by various bodies. He confirmed that SEPA have refused permission for the scheme & that he & Alec were meeting planning officials this week where they would represent the Don District Salmon Fishery Board & the Associations interests as the proposal could have a detrimental effect on the economy of the whole of Don-side should salmon runs be adversely affected.
