ADAA Events 2013
Dee Junior Day, Saturday 6 April

The ADAA and Vision/Guide fly-fishing are pleased to have arranged their first joint Dee Junior Day. There are six places available for juniors- aged 14 and older - who wish to take up or improve on their salmon fishing.
The day will take place on the Altries & Lower Drum beat on Saturday 6th April 2013, by kind permission of the owners Mr and Mrs Campbell.
Instruction will be given by Jim Fearn of Vision. Jim will then be on the beat all day to offer hints and tips. There will also be a further group of very experienced salmon anglers who will each be assigned to a junior on the day.
Vision will supply rods and tackle as required, but participants must bring their own boots/wellies and waterproof clothing.

Casting Day, Sunday 21 April
Somers’ Fishing Tackle of Aberdeen has organized a Casting Day on Sunday 21st April 2013 at the ADAA bothy on Riverside Drive. The Casting Day will kick-off at 10.30am. This will be a great opportunity for both salmon & trout anglers to polish up on their casting skills, get some useful tip from the pros, and have the opportunity to try out some of the new rods on the market.
Some top angling professionals like Scott Mackenzie, three times World Spey Casting Champion, and Howell Morgan, World Casting Champion, will be there on the day to give tuition, tips and casting demonstrations. John Henderson from Hardy/Greys will also be there showing off their new range of rods and demonstrating how to get the best out of them.
There will be other qualified casting instructors in attendance on the day and lots of other activities for anglers to get involved in. Keep an eye on the Somers’ web for up-to-date information at www.somersfishingtackle.co.uk

Vision Day, Sunday 2 June
Jim Fearn of Vision/Guide Fishing will give a demonstration of their full range of rods, reels & lines at the ADAA Bothy on Riverside Drive on Sunday 2nd June.
After a break last year, Jim returns to feature items from the exciting new range of Vision/Guide products available in 2013. The day will kick off at 10am, with Jim on hand to give casting advice, help and tips to anglers. There will also be refreshments available.
Golden Games, June 14
The ADAA participated in the Council's Golden Games programme by hosting a fly fishing event at Drumoak. The Golden Games is 3 days of events for the over 65s, and this year's Games are summarised at http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/CouncilNews/ci_cns/pr_Goldengames_290513.asp
Junior & Family Day, Sunday 18 August
After the success of last year’s Junior Day, CHAP Construction has kindly allowed us to use the Drumoak fishery once again! Thanks Doug!
The day will run along the same format as last year, with the Orvis team of Ben, Kevin and Peter coming along to provide tuition, help and advice on the day.
There will also be the usual refreshments and BBQ.
ADAA juniors will receive their invites in the post, but anyone with a budding fisherman/woman in the family can come along.
