Special Rules for Junior Members

A special prize will be presented for the heaviest fish caught in the Junior competitions. Juniors may not fish in Senior competitions. Minors may also participate in Junior competitions but not as a competitor for Junior Championship. A Separate prize will be awarded to any successful Minor.

A fish caught by any legal method, which is witnessed for capture and weight or length by any member and which is claimed by letter to the Secretary will count for the above trophies. All claims must be made within 2 weeks of capture.

OUTINGS. Details of any organised will be in local press.

Entry fee to all Senior Competitions will be £2.

Prize vouchers will be awarded to the 2 highest placed competitors not fishing for points towards the Senior Club Championship (angler must declare intention prior to start of competition).

Competition trophy will be awarded to the top angler whether fishing for points or not.


Juniors will be given a prize from the Competition Organiser.

Dee,Don and Loirston competitions to be fly only, when the maximum size permitted will be to the international
scale. Double hooks permitted. Weighted flies permitted in the Don competitions.

Water where a competition is scheduled to be fished will be off limits to competitors for practicing for
a period of 48 hours, prior to the day of the competition.

Maximum rod length 12ft.

All river competitions, where practical, will be fly only, catch and release. Flies must be debarbed or barbless. The result of the competition will be decided on numbers of fish or any other means deemed suitable by the organising committee.

Loirston competitions will be catch and release after an angler has kept their first 2 fish.

Minimum size of fish in all competitions is 10 inches

All competitions to be for brown trout, finnock,sea trout or rainbow trout.

In all competitions, competitors must not leave the starting point before the starting time and
must be at the weigh-in point no later than the stated finishing time of the competition.

Competitions will start and finish at: Dee-The Bothy; Upper & Lower Parkhill-Parkhill Road
Bridge; Fintray-Car Park; Loirston-Car Park at Lochinch Farm; Machar Pool-Car Park. Any
competitor weighing in undersize fish,kelts or yellow fin will be disqualified.The decision of the
official in charge of the weigh-in is final.

The official in charge of the competition has the right to add or amend any of the above on the
actual day if deemed necessary.

Points of:- 1st-8, 2nd-6, 3rd-5, 4th-4, 5th-3, weighing in/ recording fish-2 and competing-1 will be
awarded to competitors to accumulate towards the Club Championship. The highest points
accumulated from any 9 competitions entered count towards the Club Championship.
