Q---How many exchange permits are available to ADAA members?
A---Two per day
Q---How do ADAA members obtain exchange permits?
A---From Somers Fishing Tackle shop. They will retain record of members name, ADAA membership number, and date fishing
Q---Are there rules and maps available?

Q---Once exchange permit is obtained when fishing what should ADAA members carry with them?
A---The permit, a copy of the rules, their adaa membership card, & valid season card
Q---Once fishing has ceased for the day are ADAA members required to make a catch return to Inverurie Angling Association?
A---Yes- within 48 hours- catch return form & freepost envelope provided when collecting permit from Somers- can be posted or put in boxes located at bridges and anglers car parks

ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL
2007 Rules regulating the Council's Fishings in the RIVER DON at INVERURIE and RIVER URY at INVERURIE (Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout)

Every person fishing MUST be in possession of a current permit issued on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council, and any person fishing without a permit shall be liable to prosecution. Permits will not be issued at the river bank and must be obtained before fishing commences.

Anglers shall do everything possible to prevent illegal fishing or poaching.

Anglers shall keep to the fishing paths and must not be accompanied by their dogs.

Anglers shall allow any Bailiff, River Watcher, Warden or other person having authority from Aberdeenshire Council to inspect their fishing permit, fishing tackle and any fish in their possession.

Anglers shall not take or kill any salmon fry and unclean fish or ANY FISH UNDER TWENTY-FIVE CENTIMETRES IN LENGTH. Any such fish which may be caught must be returned alive to the water. Any fisher found in possession of any such fish may be liable to prosecution and the immediate withdrawal of permit.

Natural Minnow, prawn or shrimp (artificial or natural) and maggot fishing is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. In addition to any other penalties which may be imposed, any person caught fishing in this manner will be banned from the water.

Ground baiting is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

No gaffs or trailers to be carried.

The holder of this permit must report within 48 hours of the permit expiry date, full details of salmon, sea trout and brown trout caught by: placing a completed catch return form (including nil returns) in one of the boxes provided by the riverside or returning the form to the outlet where the permit was purchased or posting it to Aberdeenshire Council, Landscape Services, Gordon House, Blackhall Road, Inverurie,ABS 13WA.

Anglers shall not damage or interfere with the banks of the rivers in search of bait or with any property belonging to the Council or any other Party. No fires shall be lit on the river bank or in or near fishing huts

At all times anglers shall fish THROUGH the pools and shall not continue to occupy these when following anglers approach. Salmon anglers have priority.

No fisher shall cut in front of another for at least 50 metres and anglers shall at all times fish progressively downstream.

This permit is valid only for the person shown overleaf and is not transferable.

Charges shall be as determined by Aberdeenshire Council from time to time.

The Council reserves the right to amend or make additions to the conditions.

No worm fishing shall be allowed before I st May and no worm fishing during month of September when water level is below the mark. There shall be no worm fishing whatsoever after 30th September,

All foul-hooked fish must be returned to the water.

Daily bag limit: (Maximum 1 salmon, 3 Sea Trout, 3 Finnock).

Fishing for brown trout is permitted from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.

ANGLERS ARE REQUESTED TO RETURN TO THE RIVER ALL FISH IN SPAWNING COLOURS.

Any person infringing any of these conditions or who may be convicted of any illegal fishing or any offences under the Acts relative to trout or salmon fishing will have their permit confiscated and future sales of permits to said person will be reviewed.

NO ANGLERS SHALL FISH WITH MORE THAN ONE ROD CONCURRENTLY NOR USE A SET LINE.

NOTES REGARDING FISHINGS
SEASON SALMON -11th FEBRUARY TO 31st OCTOBER
BROWN TROUT AND SEATROUT 1st. APRIL TO 30th SEPTEMBER
LIMITS
AT INVERURIE RIVER URY -ALONG ITS SOUTHERN OR RIGHT BANK FROM ITS CONFLUENCE WITH THE RIVER DON TO THE TOWN BOUNDARY NEAR HOWFORD BRIDGE (ON ROAD 89001) -APPROX 5 KILOMETRES.
RIVER DON - ALONG ITS NORTHERN OF LEFT BANK FROM ITS CONFLUENCE WITH THE RIVER URY TO POLINAR BURN (APPROX 3 KILOMETRES). ALSO ALONG ITS SOUTHERN OR RIGHT BANK FROM THE NEW BY-PASS BRIDGE TO THE OLD ROAD BRIDGE (APPROX 400 METRES).
NOTE The "left" or "right" is determined facing downstream.A sketch map showing the fishing limits etc is available on request.
